Story
Session begins on 15 Mirtul 1381.
Act 1
The party finds themselves wandering the gray wastes of Hades, their memories fading. The Scribe records their names and beliefs, and inevitably directs them to drink the waters of Lethe. Before they do so, they are called from its shores, to those of the pool of Mnemosyne, whose waters restore their minds.
Deciding to make a break for it, they hijack Charon's boat and make for the opposite shore. As they ascend the interminable ascent out of the underworld, they are set upon by Cerberos, hound of Hades.
They defeat Cereberos and continue on, narrowly avoiding the armies of Xenophon, who calls after "Persephone" as they flee.
They return to the mortal world on the shores of northern Threskel, and Desi leads them to a safe place.
Act 2
The party relaxes at Desi's magnificent mansion, the fruit of her exhorbitant wages. Raithen and Desi share an intimate and exhilarating moment, but nothing comes of it; instead, he is seduced by Ani. Keket misses all of this, absorbed into her strange Imaskari puzzle box.
They return to Eltabbar, presenting Astraia to Yaphyll. Desi receives her payment; she briefly considers staying on, but ultimately leaves with her sack of gold. Astraia and Yaphyll talk prophecy.
Astraia reveals what she knows:
- In her divinations, she perceived the Coming of Twilight.
- The Ephors decided the best survival strategy was to jump ship and get in bed with Hades, who will rule the new age.
- They have been manipulating Tchazzar into conquering Chondath. Their true motive is to gain access to sunken Jhaamdath, where they hope to find the secret of controlling the Eye of God.
- The Eye of God was an Imaskari superweapon, built to bring a final end to Jhaamdath's opposition to Imaskari expansionism and silence all opposition to the Emperor's rule. Before it could be used to annihilate Jhaamdath, it was taken over by heroic adventurers and seemingly destroyed.
